Welcome to the South Easy
Something about this new version of standout track Dirt from Hatter’s recent Hatter Of Fact album really hit the spot when he sent the link through this morning. Without wanting to give up too many details maybe it’s something about the hook, “this one’s for my geezers, dealing with their demons, steaming in the evening“. If the album version is a song to drown demons this time out the backing from Normanton Street and Mrisi makes it feels more like defiance in the face of a steaming hangover. Either way lines like “if you don’t stand for something then you’ll fall for nothing” feel brutally honest, devastatingly cold, necessary.
