At the top of the century it was a plausible fantasy that Nottingham’s P Brothers and Styly Cee might have a direct line to the ambience of the livest of 70s Bronx block parties. Listening to “Ain’t Cool” it feels just as likely that Vandal Savage and compadre Juga-Naut have opened a portal from their Notts recording facilities into Curren$y’s private jet landing in New Orleans sometime in early 2010, fresh from meeting with Dame Dash or Snoop Dogg. At one point here Savage claims to be so rad his own dad couldn’t son him. It’s not a massive exaggeration.
