Welcome to the South Easy
Something big is coming. Fresh from announcing his excitement over a forthcoming Large Professor remix of an as yet unreleased song of his, Tom Caruana, the UK producer who ended up making headlines with his 2010 release Beatles vs Wu-Tang: Enter the Magical Mystery Chambers has been dropping teasers for a new project set to drop this weekend. If you don’t know the previous project, all I’ve got to say is that it was downloaded over 27 000 times and landed the at that time Brighton resident press in everything from underground rap blogs to the New York Times.
The title of the new project has not been announced yet, but a quick glance at the teaser pictures show that band from Liverpool are still at the forefront, meaning the rich vein of samples from The Beatles’ original tracks and cover versions which Caruana has been successfully mining has not yet run dry. As to whose lyrics we’re going to find over his sonic creations, well thats a little bit more curious. It looks like we’re going to get some B.I.G in there, some Busta Rhymes… are we looking at a Beatles vs Golden Era project? I’m excited, and so should you be. Needless to say, we’ll be bringing you news on the release as soon as it drops.
