Kamanchi Sly – Mark Duggan freestyle
Someone somewhere should give Kamanchi Sly (formerly of UK rap legends Hijack) a deal right now. Listening to his new freestyle he sounds so vital, so switched on I feel scared quoting any words cos you’ll miss the ferocity he delivers them with. But still, you need to have some idea so it’s worth mentioning the short piece is dedicated to Mark Duggan and opens (near enough) with ‘god bless the soul of Mark Duggan, the coppers killed him‘. From there none of the other subjects tackled surprise: corrupt politicians, racial stereotyping, wage slavery. No great shock, but scarce and refreshing to hear a middle aged man tackling them with the ferocity of a pissed off teenager.
