273 Fantasy Football: Week One – Fresh Out The Blocks

Well, you know, since I organised this thang, I thought I’d better set some standards around here. Didn’t think I’d start so well though. In the end, putting my faith in Didier Drogba paid off as his hat-trick, coupled with the double points that the captaincy brings, brought me 34 points alone. Thomas Vermaelen was the only player out of my back line to concede a goal as well, and if Arsenal had brought in a better keeper, I might have smashed the 100 points barrier.

Rarekind Records’ Ewan eased into second place with a highly respectable 65pts, with DJ Kormac completing the top three on 63pts. Of course starting strongly is all well and good, but like a wise man once said (definitely not Mark Lawrenson), its a marathon, not a sprint. Roll on week two.
