October 31, 2012
Dr Syntax and Tom Caruana have just released their Edgar Wright inspired new album A Slice of Fried Gold, and with that comes the first video for My House. Takes me back to the time I lived in a shared house down here in Brighton. So glad thats not the case any more. You can pick up the album for a few shekels from HERE, and I recommend that you do.

My good friend and fellow Menagerie emcee Longusto has just dropped his video for Enter The Call Centre, off his new LP Too Big To Play, and its a cracker. I pop up in a little cameo as the call centre manager… Make sure you pick up the album from the link below as its a masterpiece.

New Menagerie Video In The Works
May 16, 2012Well it finally happened. The planets aligned, and we managed to get enough members of The Menagerie together in the same room for long enough to film a video for a track from our forthcoming album Hopeful Monsters. It was a bizarre and emotional experience, one, because I’d never filmed a video for a track before, and two, for the evening we were shooting my part, I was burning up with some hideous fever. Still, its gonna be mad interesting to see what the end result is. Needless to say, as soon as I get anything, it’ll be up on here.

Dizraeli (@MCDizraeli) x Tom Caruana (@TomCaruana) – White Man Moves LP
March 16, 2012I posted the video for their video People Taking Pictures a few weeks back, but now Dizraeli and Tom Caruana are back with their new LP White Man Moves. Inspired by a trip Diz took from Southern India all the way back to the UK by land, via Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, he crafts all the sights and sounds into a cohesive album’s worth of lyricism. Add to this the ever banging beats by Tom Caruana and you’ve got something inspired. Its £5/£7 depending on whether you want a physical copy of the CD, but you won’t be disappointed. Plus you’ll be doing some good, as I’ll let Dizraeli explain:
“I’ve lost contact with a lot of the people who were so good to us in Iran, but I haven’t forgotten. As a small Thank You, we’re offering 50% of the profits from this album to AIWYA, the Anglo-Iranian Women and Youth Association. AIWYA campaign on behalf of the women and young people in Iran and in Camp Ashraf, the threatened refugee camp in northern Iraq, where many Iranians who have opposed the current regime are exiled. Among other things, AIWYA helps to fund Simaye Azadi, a Farsi-language satellite TV station which broadcasts news on the oppression and injustice perpetrated by the Iranian state both within and outside Iran.”

The Menagerie – Keep Your Head Down
January 15, 2012
Apologies for the brief hiatus and lack of new posts – I’ve been recharging the batteries away from civilised society.
The brand new Menagerie LP Hopeful Monsters is almost ready to be released, and what better way to get ready for that release than to enjoy the video for the first release from the project featuring the rhyme skills of Teej and Dizraeli. Keep Your Head Down, like the entire album, is produced by Tom Caruana, whose last couple of mash up LPs, Wu-Tang vs The Beatles, and Wu-Tang vs Jimi Hendrix have been getting some serious critical acclaim.

Tom Caruana (@TomCaruana) presents: Black Gold: Wu-Tang vs Jimi Hendrix [FREE DL]
August 1, 2011You might need to get your skates on and click the DL link before you’ve even read what I have to say about this one, because I’m sure the legal vultures are circling like they did for TC’s last Wu-Tang vs Beatles project. Do it now…
• Download Tom Caruana presents: Black Gold: Wu-Tang vs Jimi Hendrix NOW.
Free downloads have now ceased. You can buy a copy of the mixtape from here now:
…right. Now you’ve done that, I can say a little bit about what you’re currently downloading. Wu accapellas over banging Tom Caruana beats sampling the legendary Jimi Hendrix. The Wu were so impressed with Caruana’s last offering that they even threw him a couple of exclusive verses from ODB’s son, Young Dirty Bastard, and Wu affiliate, Gab Gotcha.
Tom Caruana is a beat making machine. I once asked him for a couple of new beats and he sent me a download link to over three hundred. Knowing him, he would have gone through every Hendrix track ever made to find the finest loops and samples. I’d expect nothing less. But like I say, grab this now, as there’s no guarantee this will be about tomorrow.
