This shit is so bugged out. Mad energy, prowling about the stage before going bonkers during the hook, leaping on Jimmy Fallon’s back at the end. Odd future might not be everyone’s cup of tea, as some people prefer a drop of sunshine in their lives rather than a glimpse of what lies beneath. Even The Roots, as the house band, look like they enjoyed this one. And Mos Def is screaming in support at the end too. Sinister, slightly freakin’ disturbing, but brilliant.

September 20, 2010Apologies for the slow weekend here on The 273. Actually, fuck it. No apologies. I just haven’t found anything floating around that I’ve thought was worthy of you guys and gals. Fingers crossed there’ll I’ll find some gold dust in the week ahead.
Anyway, while my eyes adjust to this early Monday morning light, here’s a little live clip of Tip and the Roots performing the NWA classic at some thang Stateside.

The Roots ft/ John Legend – The Fire [VIDEO]
July 27, 2010This is one of the best tracks I’ve heard off the new Roots LP How I Got Over – the video is some big budget Rik Cordero affair, but after watching it a few times, I still haven’t really got a clue what its all about or how it relates to the track. Be interested to hear what any readers think. Leave a comment and let me know your opinions.
