Dizraeli and the Small Gods – Never Mind [@MCDizraeli]

October 22, 2012

I knew Diz was doing a video, but I didn’t realise it was for this track. One of my favourites that he has done, my fellow Menagerie emcee has done a fantastic job with this. The lyrics are on point in a way that you come to expect from him, and the band kill it as well. Watching this makes me sure that the new Menagerie album featuring both of us will be a smash. Brilliant.

Longusto ft/ Genesis Elijah – Standing Alone [@Longusto @GenesisElijah @TomCaruana]

August 19, 2012

My good friend Longusto, the biggest reprobate in the 273 has got his new album dropping soon, and trying to put all bias aside, what I’ve heard is really good. This latest video sees him teaming up with Genesis Elijah on a Tom Caruana beat. Too Big To Play is out soon. Longusto won’t be playing any shows, but will be getting arrested for indecent exposure in a town near you soon.

Dr Syntax – Patrick Bateman’s Business Card [@RealDrSyntax]

August 10, 2012

My man Synners has got himself a new recording set up, and although he may need a little help mixing down his vocals, the lyrics are sharp and acerbic as ever. Check this goodness over that well known Pacewon I Declare War instrumental.

New Menagerie Video In The Works

May 16, 2012

Well it finally happened. The planets aligned, and we managed to get enough members of The Menagerie together in the same room for long enough to film a video for a track from our forthcoming album Hopeful Monsters. It was a bizarre and emotional experience, one, because I’d never filmed a video for a track before, and two, for the evening we were shooting my part, I was burning up with some hideous fever. Still, its gonna be mad interesting to see what the end result is. Needless to say, as soon as I get anything, it’ll be up on here.

Dizraeli and The Small Gods – We Had A Song [@MCDizraeli]

March 30, 2012

New video of my fellow Menagerie fam Dizraeli and his band The Small Gods recording a live track for BBC radio a couple of weeks ago.

Remember, the new Menagerie LP will be dropping very soon. I know I’ve been saying that for ages, but it’s true.

Dizraeli (@MCDizraeli) x Tom Caruana (@TomCaruana) – White Man Moves LP

March 16, 2012

I posted the video for their video People Taking Pictures a few weeks back, but now Dizraeli and Tom Caruana are back with their new LP White Man Moves. Inspired by a trip Diz took from Southern India all the way back to the UK by land, via Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, he crafts all the sights and sounds into a cohesive album’s worth of lyricism. Add to this the ever banging beats by Tom Caruana and you’ve got something inspired. Its £5/£7 depending on whether you want a physical copy of the CD, but you won’t be disappointed. Plus you’ll be doing some good, as I’ll let Dizraeli explain:

“I’ve lost contact with a lot of the people who were so good to us in Iran, but I haven’t forgotten. As a small Thank You, we’re offering 50% of the profits from this album to AIWYA, the Anglo-Iranian Women and Youth Association. AIWYA campaign on behalf of the women and young people in Iran and in Camp Ashraf, the threatened refugee camp in northern Iraq, where many Iranians who have opposed the current regime are exiled. Among other things, AIWYA helps to fund Simaye Azadi, a Farsi-language satellite TV station which broadcasts news on the oppression and injustice perpetrated by the Iranian state both within and outside Iran.”

The Menagerie – Keep Your Head Down

January 15, 2012

Apologies for the brief hiatus and lack of new posts – I’ve been recharging the batteries away from civilised society.

The brand new Menagerie LP Hopeful Monsters is almost ready to be released, and what better way to get ready for that release than to enjoy the video for the first release from the project featuring the rhyme skills of Teej and Dizraeli. Keep Your Head Down, like the entire album, is produced by Tom Caruana, whose last couple of mash up LPs, Wu-Tang vs The Beatles, and Wu-Tang vs Jimi Hendrix have been getting some serious critical acclaim.

The Menagerie – Halloween

October 30, 2011

I’m not one for Halloween, hence I’m not on this track, but a couple of my fellow Menagerians are, and as this track hasn’t made the cut for the forthcoming LP, its up for a free download, should you want to add it to your hard drive. This sombre track features Teej, Jon Clark, Elemental and Baba Brinkman.

The new Menagerie LP Hopeful Monsters is in the process of being mixed and should be dropping real soon.
