Koaste – That White [@Koaste]

January 18, 2013

Koaste That White

Since the country is going to pot due to a little bit of the white stuff today, I thought I’d drop a little something over DJ Premier and Fat Joe’s Thank God For That White instrumental. Who knew I’d be so creative in my week away from the bar. Free download from the soundcloud link. Enjoy.

Koaste – Southern & Boozy [@Koaste]

January 16, 2013

Southern & Boozy

Got a week away from the bar this week, so I’ve started writing to a few things I’ve wanted to write to for a while now. Here’s a little something I wrote yesterday over The Purist’s track Northern & Roozy with Action Bronson which dropped a little while back. Its a little summery, but I’ve never been one to keep in sync with the seasons. Besides, its gonna be summertime somewhere in the world.

Blast From The Past #40: East Flatbush Project – Tried By 12

November 8, 2012

This track takes me back. One of the most recognisable beats in Hip Hop in my opinion. Produced by Spencer Bellamy under the name East Flatbush Project, with lyrics by DeS, who as far as I can tell, never had another track out on wax. EFP have though, but I’m not sure I’ve ever knowingly heard one. Enlish and me did a little thing over this beat way back in about 2008.

Longusto – Too Big To Play LP [@Longusto]

September 19, 2012

If you live in Brighton and know Longusto, you’re probably aware that he’s been banging on about how his new album is the best work he’s ever released. Having had time to listen to it now, I’d be inclined to agree. If you don’t know the Menagerie emcee, then this is a perfect introduction, and its free for a limited time only. I pop up on track two as well, but don’t let that put you off.

The Beast Is Back (@WayneRooney)

June 19, 2012

Wayne Rooney is back from suspension tonight when England face tournament holders Ukraine in their last group game of the Euros. Therefore, its only fair that this track, written before the last world cup, gets an airing. I’ve gone large on Wayne to grab a hat trick, which means he’s now odds on to play like he’s never seen a football before, plant his boot in one of the opposition’s faces, and spend most of the match in a daze caused by imagining Andrei Shevchenko’s grandmother in her sauciest lingerie.

Since the sun has finally decided to show its face on the South Coast, I thought it was time to release this track into the wild. One to cop heatstroke to. The download link will come soon. I really want to film a video to this one. Any film makers in and around the 273, get in touch!

New Menagerie Video In The Works

May 16, 2012

Well it finally happened. The planets aligned, and we managed to get enough members of The Menagerie together in the same room for long enough to film a video for a track from our forthcoming album Hopeful Monsters. It was a bizarre and emotional experience, one, because I’d never filmed a video for a track before, and two, for the evening we were shooting my part, I was burning up with some hideous fever. Still, its gonna be mad interesting to see what the end result is. Needless to say, as soon as I get anything, it’ll be up on here.
