I’m a sucker for a good posse cut, especially when the emcees involved aren’t necessarily ones that have regularly jumped on a track together. Kid Tsunami has lopped together a cracking combo of golden era heavyweights for his track The Chase, taken from his forthcoming release of the same name. Massive.

Been diggin’ in those video crates again, and #3 in our series is one of my all time favourites, not least because my man Mex from Black Grass hooked me up with a vocal sample from this for my track Blabbermouth which came out last year (Plug, plug, plug). Back to the Grill was supposedly a follow up to Main Source’s Live at the BBQ, but aside from Nas being on both, I can’t see any real links between the tracks. (Someone care to help me out?)
Anyway, MC Serch from 3rd Bass (who I don’t need to tell you was Executive Producer on Nas’ Illmatic, right?) put together a pretty dope line up of Nasty Nas, Red Hot Lover Tone & Chubb Rock for this posse cut, and I think its still up there with the best in that category.
