One of my homies from the 360 Physicals days has just featured on a new video. C.Monts now lives out in the Czech Republic where he’s still making good music as illustrated by this track with Nironic and friends. The highlight of this track is Johnny Youngblood’s verse though. Absolutely bonkers. In a wheres-my-straightjacket type way.

I posted the video for their video People Taking Pictures a few weeks back, but now Dizraeli and Tom Caruana are back with their new LP White Man Moves. Inspired by a trip Diz took from Southern India all the way back to the UK by land, via Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, he crafts all the sights and sounds into a cohesive album’s worth of lyricism. Add to this the ever banging beats by Tom Caruana and you’ve got something inspired. Its £5/£7 depending on whether you want a physical copy of the CD, but you won’t be disappointed. Plus you’ll be doing some good, as I’ll let Dizraeli explain:
“I’ve lost contact with a lot of the people who were so good to us in Iran, but I haven’t forgotten. As a small Thank You, we’re offering 50% of the profits from this album to AIWYA, the Anglo-Iranian Women and Youth Association. AIWYA campaign on behalf of the women and young people in Iran and in Camp Ashraf, the threatened refugee camp in northern Iraq, where many Iranians who have opposed the current regime are exiled. Among other things, AIWYA helps to fund Simaye Azadi, a Farsi-language satellite TV station which broadcasts news on the oppression and injustice perpetrated by the Iranian state both within and outside Iran.”

Big ups to my man Kormac for getting me out to Dublin again. Always have a great time when I’m out there, and New Years Eve was no different. Tripod was rammed, and the crowd were loving the band. Needless to say, the night got a little messy, and I don’t think I’d had much sleep by the time I’d sat down on the plane back to Gatwick the following evening. Insane.

Anyone that hasn’t copped the Exxecution LP that Juxx put out with Marco Polo is a fool. That album was hot magnesium. He’s now prepping the path for his next LP Adamantine (that was the metal that X-Men’s Wolverine had implanted onto his skeleton, right?) and this track featuring Montpellier’s 34 Click is taken from that. Not only has it got those French cats on it, but its produced (in fact, the whole LP is produced) by Nottingham’s Endemic. Big moves for the UK right there.

Well, if I wasn’t kicking myself for not going this year already, I am now after watching this little video montage of last weekends Hip Hop Kemp in the Czech Republic. If you don’t know about Kemp, its this little three day festival put on in Hradlec Kralove, about three hours outside of prague, where the biggest and best names in Hip Hop from around the USA, Europe, Australia and wherever else come together to rock jams for the biggest crowd of purely heads you’ll probably ever see. Anyway, if you don’t know, do some research and get your arse there next year. Or you’ll end up feeling as gutted as I am now.
