Big cover version of The Specials’ Ghost Town by Hot 8 Brass Band. Fits in well with the haunting shots of Post Katrina New Orleans.

New video from the sassy Canadian born NY based rapper. This track’s a little more rock tinged than some of her other recent tracks, but don’t let that put you off. The girl’s doing good.

It was either Gizmo or Kong from Rum Com that put me onto this dude, and it wasn’t long before Huzzah was on repeat play up here in Illwood Heights. Now it turns out his new mixtape is out on a free download ting via Mishka NYC.
I haven’t had a chance to check it yet, but I’ve DL’d it on the strength of that last track, and the fact he’s got a bunch of tracks produced by El-P, Esoteric and Jake One, and thats a strong trio right there.
Anyway, I’m gonna give this a whirl tomorrow, but let me know what you think.

His music, one part complex rhymes, one part cuss words and two parts drunken nights, it’s difficult to put Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire in a box. But, to paraphrase one of his live show chants, he can just rap really
good.

Very much looking forward to checking this out when it drops. The first one was pretty good, and the line up of emcees on this one looks even better…

A little outside the box – this video is taken from the BBC Proms last Saturday. DJ Switch joins the National Youth Orchestra to perform Gabriel (grandson of Sergei) Prokofiev’s Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra.

Hung out with Jeswon a few times while I was living out in Sydney a while back, and him and Tuka have dropped some ill jawnts as Thundamentals. This one is slightly different to his normal stuff, but if I can record with 2 Bit Thugs, then I can plug some different flex fresh like this.

Some newness from Menagerie affiliate Baba Brinkman taken from his Rap Guide to Evolution show. Reminds me of a better researched evolutionary version of Rass Kass’ Nature of the Threat… The video is pretty nicely put together too. New Menagerie LP Hopeful Monsters featuring Baba, myself, Elemental, Dizraeli, Dr Syntax, Tom Caruana and more coming very soon…
