Don’t know a lot about Ab Soul other than this one track of his, Mayday, keeps popping up repeatedly on my iPhone when its on shuffle. The Danny Brown hype machine on the other hand keeps rolling along steadily. The duo’s voices on this track definitely complement each others though. Good shit.

I posted the video for Oddisee’s remix of Marvin Gaye’s Ain’t That Peculiar last week, and now he’s only gone and dropped his Odd Renditions EP for free download on his bandcamp. Well worth grabbing a copy.

Always good to stumble across a new female that can actually rap without having to go the Minaj/Lil’ Kim route. Spotted Gavlyn on Nova Rockafeller’s twitter feed, and she’s good. Don’t know where she’s from, but I like what she does. You can check out more music on her bandcamp page HERE.

New video from my homie across the pond J57. He’s dropping a couple of new EP’s very soon (2057 and The Ports EP) and we’ve got a couple of videos off of those coming our way. Here’s the first, featuring Koncept. Niceness.

I may not be as much of a Dilla stan as the next man, but real recognise real, and this track is a banger. Danny Brown jumps on an unreleased Jay Dee beat and the result is this. From an upcoming Rebirth of Detroit project. This one needs some loud play.

Something a little bit different for this morning, as Oddisee gives a new twist to the late great Marvin Gaye’s Ain’t That Peculiar. I think it works pretty well. The new album (from Oddisee, not Marvin), People Hear What They See dropping next month.

New video from Grafh. Not the most original of topics, but it lends itself well to Grafh’s drawling tongue twister style. Solid.

Here’s a new track produced by Gensu Dean featuring verses from 7evenThirty (who I know nothing about) and 273 favourite Homeboy Sandman. The fast paced and frantic vocals cascade over a wailing sample and hard drums hooked up on Gensu Dean’s trusty SP-1200. Another free download from those Mello Music guys, so help yourself.
