Don’t know how I missed this one. New leak from the Czarface LP, featuring Oh No. This album is playing to Deck’s strengths, as everyone knows he kills everything he features on, so restricting him to a verse per song, he’s guaranteed to smash the shit out of everything on this project.

I’m loathe to stray too far from my Hip Hop, generally because like most contestants on Mastermind, its my one of my two specialised subjects. And my knowledge of alcohol in all its forms is best delivered through the medium of liquoration, for which I have to be there in person.
Anyway, this got posted through the 273 virtual letterbox recently, together with a personal cover letter (thats the way to get me to listen to stuff – ya ‘eard?). So I gave it a listen, and you know what, I think its pretty damn dope. Covers of rap tracks rarely satisfy, possibly because ninety nine percent of the time they’re novelty covers, designed to provoke a laugh, but rarely more. This is different.
According to the PR, Baker has a covers EP coming next month, which has got me intrigued as to whether he can carry this off over more than one track. I’ll be sure to put a little something up here once I get my hands on a copy, so we shall see. Till then, enjoy this one, and keep your fingers crossed for me that its not gonna be a one track wonder.

I thought I knew this dude’s name from somewhere, and it turns out I posted a video from ESH back in April. This track is off Spanish Producers’ DJ Keal and Hibe’s new album Borderless, and in the words of ESH, “It’s like downloading the Superbowl whilst riding dirt bikes with Bruce Springsteen”. Got that?

The new EP from Rum Committee’s larger than life Blues singer has dropped, and bloody hell its good. Its not your average release from one of the rowdiest rap groups in the South East Sector, but don’t let that hold you back from copping this. Its well worth the four quid that it’ll set you back – thats one pint in todays money.
A little bit of classic Hip Hop hook on the Ceezlin featuring Daylight Fading, to the dripping in soul acoustic soliloquy St James, this release straddles enough genres to confuse you as to where to file the EP in your collection. Nowhere else will you hear sandpaper scratched blues vocals over a heavier Hip Hop beat than Tell ‘Em Like It Is, the Sherlock Bones produced banger. Enough to make anyone want to spark up a cuban and drink half a bottle of rye whilst listening to it loud in a dark room. Awesome.

Yungun has formally changed his name to Essa, and has dropped this new five track EP for your eardrums. Peep the banger featuring none other than Skinnyman and the Wu’s Inspektah Deck, and I’m sure you’ll have at least one good reason to part with a couple of quid to cop the download.
