Don’t know a lot about Ab Soul other than this one track of his, Mayday, keeps popping up repeatedly on my iPhone when its on shuffle. The Danny Brown hype machine on the other hand keeps rolling along steadily. The duo’s voices on this track definitely complement each others though. Good shit.

One of my homies from the 360 Physicals days has just featured on a new video. C.Monts now lives out in the Czech Republic where he’s still making good music as illustrated by this track with Nironic and friends. The highlight of this track is Johnny Youngblood’s verse though. Absolutely bonkers. In a wheres-my-straightjacket type way.

Always good to stumble across a new female that can actually rap without having to go the Minaj/Lil’ Kim route. Spotted Gavlyn on Nova Rockafeller’s twitter feed, and she’s good. Don’t know where she’s from, but I like what she does. You can check out more music on her bandcamp page HERE.

I may not be as much of a Dilla stan as the next man, but real recognise real, and this track is a banger. Danny Brown jumps on an unreleased Jay Dee beat and the result is this. From an upcoming Rebirth of Detroit project. This one needs some loud play.

Jack Flash takes a little break from the hard stuff and gets a little bit misty eyed on this new video. The lyrics are good, but the whole song seems a bit wishy washy to me though. I’m sure some people are gonna like it, but its no Too Much Make Up. Even the beat seems to have lost any of that trademark Wizard sound. Hopefully these two will be back on the hard stuff soon.
