From 9pm at the Hope on Queens Rd, Brighton, there’ll be some heavy hip-hop going off, featuring Shelly Mack, DJ Ideal, and live sets from rising star Rizzle, as well as Wordsmith – one of the top rhymers in the UK in my opinion. Well worth going down and checking it out, especially if you’ve never been to a Slipjam before. Oh, did I mention its absolutely FREE to get in? Well it is. So go make it a packed night.

Mrisi aka Shapnel has been developing a buzz from his various projects, including his Black & Cracker collabs with another rising star, Mad Hatter. We had both of them on the radio show a month or so ago unleashing some freestyles, and I’m hoping we’ll see big things from them in the future. The track itself isn’t really my cup of tea, but Lil’ Shrap steals the track with his verse.

Haven’t got round to checking it in full yet, but heard a couple of tracks, and I’ve got no doubts that it’s gonna be anything less than fire. For me, Royce is one of those people who embody every quality an emcee should have. Great battle rhymes, great storytelling, and above all, one of the best flows in the game. May 28, 2010Nice new track from Rass Kassiano featuring Slaughterhouse’s Royce 5’9″. Produced by CSIK and Sick Jacken (Psycho Realm). Some hot bars right here. Good to see Rass back on form. When I first heard Soul on Ice a good few moons ago, I expected him to reach a higher level than where he currently is. Unfortunately, that has never happened, so fingers crossed he gets some good shit out in 2010. Enjoy.
